Danish Workshop Of Gospel Music Took Place In Minsk (Photo)

On February 20-21st a musical master class “Gospel-style” took place at the Palace of arts and ended with concert made by Minsk gospel choir, “New Land” gospel choir and the choir of master class participants.

The events was organized by Minsk gospel choir. The classes were held by prfoessionals from Denmark: Sophy Hermind (vocals, conductor) and Mads Holm Andersen (keyboard, conductor).

“The lyrics of gospel songs have a specific Christian sense. And people who had never heard of God, of Christian values, can sing these songs and become closer to the Christianity and begin learning Christian values”, – notes Vitaly Asipenka, one of the organizers, in his interview to KRYNICA.INFO.

The idea of such classes originated 3 years ago in Denmark, where  an international service emerged organizing the gospel music classes all over the world. “Thanks to that a great number of gospel choirs has been organized in many countries, where everybody can participate despite his/her beliefs or talents, people who want to sing but are shy. And they come and perform Christian gospel music through wich they talk about God and Christian values”, – says Vitaly.

At the same time, according to him, there is no direct evangelization during the classes. “But when people sing about God they become involved. When they sing about forgivness, love of God, about the death of Jesus Christ for their sake they become involved. We trust God in this”, – he notes.
