Nuncio: Pope Asks Us to Be the Personification Of Appeal For World Peace


On the 13th of March a state reception took place in Minsk, dedicated to the 2nd anniversary of Pope Francis’ election to the Holy See and to the visit of the secretary of state of Vatican cardinal Pietro Parolin.

At the reception organized by the Apostolic Nunciature in Minsk attended prime minister of Belarus Andrey Kabyakow, minister of foreign affairs Uladzimir Makey, deputy minister of foreign affairs Alyona Kupchina, the representatives of the diplomatic corps, the members of Conference of Catholic Bishops of Belarus, the Patriarchal Exarch of all Belarus Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslawl Paul, the Apostolic vistator for Greek Catholics in Belarus archmandrite Syarhey Gajek and other important persons.

According to, the gathering was greeted by the Apostolic Nuncio in Belarus archbishop Claudio Gugerotti.

“The Pope asks us to be the personification of an unceasing appeal for world peace. Our efforts are also put in promoting the full acknowledgement of the Republic of Belarus contribution with all its history and culture. And it has a full right for it”, – stated the Apostolic Nuncio.

According to him, for this aim to be achieved a dialog should be conducted with other nations and cultures, thus everybody would receive an impulse that bring him to peace.

All confessions must participate in the peace dialog that is why by creating the border between them an insult is made to the image of God which is worshipped by all religions.

“The events in the neighbouring and dear Ukraine made this common goal an urgent necessity”, – said archbishop Claudio Gugerotti.
